DECEMBER CHALLENGE | "DEER SANTA"

And just like that we are into December.  This month we have a moodboard to inspire you.  It is Christmas but not in a traditional way.  Here it is....  "Deer Santa"

The design team girls have created a range of layouts to get your creative juices flowing.

This month we have two sponsors.  I had a last minute panic thinking I had overlooked a sponsor and scrambled to arrange another but it turns out I was just too organised.  So that is a bonus for you.  There will be two Australian winners this month and our usual International one Sponsored by Accent Scrapbooking.

This months two sponsors are D-lish Scraps
And a new Sponsor for Scrap the Girls - Corbett Creations.

I encourage you all to click on the links and head over and support our sponsors.  Check out their stores and see what awesomeness you can find.

I look forward to seeing what you all come up with this month.  Remember to you can link up here in the blog via the Link up or head over to the Facebook page and share your layouts there.  Or do both.

From the Design team and I, we wish you all a great festive season.

HOMEGROWN GUEST DESIGNER #17 | JUDY WILLEY

It's the middle of the month and that means it is time to share another Homegrown Guest Designer with you.   Please welcome Judy Willey.

"I am so honoured to be guest designer for STG this month. I have been scrapping for many years and have tried lots of different techniques over the times - mixed media is definitely my fav at the moment. However I hope that I have maintained a focus on documenting life's moments for myself and my family. I live in tropical north Queensland with my husband. We see our children and grandchildren often and they feature in much of my work. The saying “Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world” really struck a chord for me. My daughter in law has just hung up her basketball boots after a wonderful career taking her all around the world, so this layout is for her. "

And here is Judy's layout... I really love it and what it represents.
Thank you Judy for taking time to design this awesome layout for STG. To see more of Judy's awesome work check out her blog - http://judywblog.wordpress.com

Make sure you have linked up your layouts via the blog or Facebook page to go in the running to win one of the awesome prizes this month.

OCTOBER WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER | THINK PINK

Thank you to everyone who played along with last months challenge.  Breast Cancer is something that we all need to be vigilant about.  It is with heavy heart that I share my nan lost her battle with this disease on Tuesday.  Please make sure you check yourself out.

There was a huge number of entries in the challenge, so I am glad it inspired so many of you.  Please remember to add your country code to your entry.  Last week I put together all the challenges for next year and keeping with my "out of the box" inspiration, the design team girls have informed me that they are not like any other challenges around.  As for the design team, I would usually open up a DT call around now to start early next year however, our current design team has decided to stay on for another term.  I have however, added one new member and they will be live in January.  I may very well add more team members so if you were wanting to try out for the team or a guest feature drop me an email to popleopod@outlook.com.

We have just about filled out sponsor schedule for next year and I have managed to secure a few months with double sponsors so make sure you keep an eye out and play along.   I am just about ready to dive into Semester 3 with my studies so if you do message me and I don't message back within a day, message me again please.  A response might have slipped my mind.  Sorry.

Anyways, lets get on with announcing a winner.

This layout and the theme "Fairy Floss Hair" just nailed the Pink brief I think!
Congratulations to Jodie Digney for our Australian prize from The Resin Rainbow.

Our international winner is....Nicole Doiron.

Thanks again to our Sponsors for October The Resin Rainbow and Accent Scrapbooking.  If you haven't already please support out sponsors and head over and check out their stores.  If you are lucky enough to be a winner please send me an email or a Facebook message and I will arrange to get your prize out to you.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with this month. There are already some great entries.

As always we have two prizes up for grabs this month.  One International flair pack from Accent Scrapbooking and this months Australian Sponsor is Flutterby Designs.  Please head over and check out what these companies have to offer.  There is something that will appeal to absolutely everyone and both are small "mum" businesses so you know who you are supporting when you buy from them.

Oh, and remember to put your country code on your entries so we know which prize you go into the draw for.

Have fun

INTERNATIONAL GUEST DESIGNER | ÅSA JOHANSSON

I majorly stuffed up and this month and in the mist of final exams I forgot to hit share on this months International Guest Designer.  I am sooooooo Sorry.

But I still have today to share,
Please welcome Åsa Johannson to Scrap the Girls this month.

Hi! My name is Åsa Johansson and I come from Sweden. I live in the middle of Sweden with my family of 5, or actually six with the dog. I work as a teacher. I was so thrilled when Krisy asked me to be a guest designer at Scrap the Girls. I love this blog and have participated in their challenges. I´ve been a scrapper since 2007 when I was pregnant with my twin girls (in the photo of my page). I´m really addicted to this hobby. It makes me able to relax, do something creative, get to know new friends and so on.... And I get to practice my english which isn´t that good (hope you understand me😃). The list over good things with scrapping is so long. I do layouts and cards mostly. My style is CAS and I love to use the color pink (that mood board was perfect for me), stiching and mist. I think that´s my signature. I design for a couple of teams and I love it! It´s a perfect way to connect world wide. I hope you like my page and that you got some inspiration to create yourself and participate in this fun challenge! Thank you so much Scrap the Girls for the opportunity to guesting you! I loved it!!! Hugs Åsa

Here are Åsa's links:

And here is her layout....

I am on the look out for some International Guest Designers for next year.  If you would like to feature on our blog...Head over to our Facebook page and send us a message with your favourite layout and why you want to feature?  If you are successful you will win a guest design spot and a shout out on our Facebook, Blog and Instagram.  What more could the budding designer want?

Thanks Again Åsa for playing along.  Sorry that I am slack.

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER - SEPTEMBER DEAR JOHN SKETCH WINNERS

I am trying to be organised ahead of my exams and thought I would pop in and share last months "Dear John" sketch winners.   I just want to thank Sue again for the sketch and understanding how I like to push people out of their comfort zones and to see where they take our challenges.  For so long people have just produced layouts that are the challenge but I like to encourage creativity and our challenges are for inspiration.

This months Homegrown winner is Tracey B with her literal interpretation of the challenge and the use of some awesome ephemera...old school letters.  Does anyone actually do this anymore?  I love it.
Congratulations you have won a kit from D-lish Scraps.

The second winner we have this month is: Lyn Bowden

You have won a kit from Kitaholics Kits.

OCTOBER CHALLENGE | THINK PINK

Hi, October is here and it is time for a new challenge.  This month we have a moodboard that is inspired by October being Breast Cancer awareness month.  Breast cancer affects so many people.  Just about everyone I know, knows someone that has survived, is battling or has lost the fight to the disease.  My nan is currently fighting a battle with it and it is awful to see such an independent lady become so fragile and weak in such a short period of time.  Make sure you are checking and double checking and don't hesitate to get things checked if you find something.  Head over to the National Breast Cancer Foundation Site to find out how to self examine.  If you can spare a few dollars you can also make a donation that may very well save a life. Here is the link here.  Every dollar helps plus every donation of $2 is tax deductible.

Here is this months Moodboard.

And here are the inspiration pages from the Design Team Girls:

This months sponsor is The Resin Rainbow for our homegrown winner.  If you haven't seen the stuff from the Resin Rainbow head over and check it out.  There is heaps of stuff to choose from or Janet can even help you out with custom make items.

As usual, Accent Scrapbooking is our International Sponsor open worldwide!

Remember you can load your entries via the Linky at the top or you can share them on the Facebook Page, its up to you.  You don't have to have a blog to play along.  Another thing to remember, our challenges are all about inspiration.  You don't have to directly relate it to an exact image on the moodboard.  We love thinking outside of the box here at Scrap the Girls.
