AUGUST CHALLENGE | INSTALOVE

Pinch and a punch for the first of the month. Time for a new challenge.  This month I've decided to be less restrictive and allow you show what inspires you.  This challenge has an theme but you have to decide what you want to do.  Its a little controversial now. So here is the challenge image, then I'll give you the run down....

So this months challenge....Be inspired by Instagram.  This can mean you can be inspired by the colours, the shapes, the square photo formatting, likes....What ever you want.  But you must tell us what it is that inspired you.   The controversy is that Instagram have taken away the like button but honestly I had no Idea that was happening.  I set this challenge back in November for the DT.  Yep that's how organised I am and how much notice the DT get for their challenges, that's a bit of behind the scenes for you.

This month the Design Team has gone in all different directions and I love that it has enabled us to see what inspires different creatives.  Here are the Design Teams layouts....
I was inspired by the coloured stripes in the logo, which I recreated using watercolours. I also included a number of elements relevant to Instagram - hearts, a camera icon, and a hashtag title. (I even snuck in the  "thumbs up" like button from fellow social media platform Facebook.)

These are all photos of my daughter from her instagram page. All her photos are in black and white, thats her thing!
Tanya

Tamara was all about the cutfile fitting perfectly with the theme this month.Tamara

"I have been inpired by the sketch"

I was inspired by the colors and using a square theme.
I was inspired by the colours, the square photos, the fact that Instagram often is a record of a journey. Plus this was once my profile picture.
Krisy

I've just gone for the square photo in this layout captured at the beach
Anne

I decided to turn the logo and i also use the coloré of Instagram logo.
I decided to go with all things camera-related, as you can see. I've also added in some hearts to copy the image and also the 'like' option within instagram. I used an old photo with an (old) instagram filter and I used a rainbow of colours - again as inspiration from the image provided.

totally inspired by my love of good vodka and crowns... so instagood!
I was inspired by all the elements in the logo.....but this totally did not go the way the idea in my head originally went...all because I accidentally sent my photo to the wrong printer and ended up with a big A4 of my head - so I just rolled with it
Inspired by the Insta logo to make a huge shaker pocket out of the cut file and the square format photo.

This months homegrown sponsor is HELMAR.  Yes the glue company.  This is one that every scrapper will benefit from.

As always Scrap Accent will be sponsoring an international winner.  Keep an eye out this month as we will be announcing the May, June and July winners and you will need to contact us via our Facebook page to claim your prize.  Don't wait too long or you will miss out.

I can't wait to see what inspires you all.  Remember you can link up via the link, send us a message via Facebook or tag us on Instagram.

JUNE CHALLENGE | "NANAS"

Pinch and a punch. New challenge this month.  This challenge reminds me of my Baba AKA Grandma.  Miss matched patters and colours that somehow were a style.  If that makes sense?!  Here is the inspiration picture....

This months homegrown challenge Sponsor is one of our faithful favourites - D-lish Scraps.  Please take the time to peruse the shop and pick up a few gorgeous embellishments.  We also have our favourite International Store sponsoring our International winners - Accent Scrap.  Make sure you check out all the gorgeous flair.

Now for some inspiration from our design team:

I was inspired to draw from the image as much as I could. I used a white background and then a mix of busy, colourful patterns including a geometric design. I also added flowers and included pops of yellow inspired by the clogs.
I took inspiration from all the different patterns.
Inspired the patch work bags and the mixture of colours and patterns.Tamara
Inspired by the florals
I was inspired by the yellow clogs. I am on a mission this year to get out of my comfort zone and I certainly did with this one! I never use yellow!! the technique was inspired by a step by step tutorial by Tammy Klingner - the design itself quite different to Tammy's page.
The miss match of patterns got me
Krisy
I've gone for that patterns in this one.
Anne
This is my june layout, I got my inspiration in the color, the flowers and the leaves.
I was inspired by the pops of busy pattern on a more subtle backdrop, and I wanted the yellow to stand out on my layout, the way it does in the image.

I took this months theme of "Patterns and Colours" as a representation of "Mismatched" - some see beauty and others don't - a bit like life really - underneath the picture is a quote that represents how fractured moments shape us as women
Inspired by the florals and that pop of yellow!

Remember when you link up to include your country of Origin to make it a little easier for judging.  AND remember you can link up via the blog using your blog, a facebook link or Instagram link.  You don't have to have a blog to play along.  Of if that is a little too much just message your entry through on our Facebook.  All entries are considered.

This months homegrown sponsor is D-lish Scraps and as always Scrapbook Accent is on board for our international winner.  Make sure you check out their pages.  Without their support we wouldn't be able to reward you for you efforts.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with this month.

APRIL CHALLENGE | KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF

Pinch and a Punch for the first of the month.  This months challenge can go either way depending on your interpretation and experience.
This is the challenge:
Don't think about this too hard.  It is just to get you thinking outside your box.  The DT had a fair bit of discussion around the challenge and there are some very different takes on it.  This is where the interpretation comes in....Your past experience may have you wanting revenge or just celebrating being better than you were before.  But at the end of the day you are going to want to put your best foot forward.

Here are the DT Inspiration - keep an eye on the Facebook Page and I'll share the stories behind the DT layouts

This months Sponsor is Charms Creations.  Head over and check out what Charm has in store! Oh and follow her Facebook page so you get notification of her new releases.

As usual we have Accent Scrapbooking on board again this year as an international Sponsor.  They have changed their name to Scrap Accent as well as their logo but it is the same company and awesome products.  Make sure you check out all our sponsors websites.

FEBRUARY CHALLENGE | WARRIOR QUEEN

Welcome everyone to February.  The year is off to a flying start and if you are in Australia, I bet you are thankful that School has finally gone back!

Last month we said Farewell to some of our Design team members, today we welcome 4 new ones.  I know that each of these ladies will inspire you over the course of their time here at Scrap the Girls.  Today we welcome Tanya Heritage, Lisa-Maire Watling, Belinda Lowe and Guylaine Seyer to the team.  There is a mix of styles and backgrounds that really fit in with our "Outside the Box" style.  I hope you really enjoy the creations these girls have to share with you.

This month we have a moodboard colour challenge inspired by Constance Hall and her floral crowns and warrior Queen attitude.  If you don't know who she is, I suggest you all go and do a bit of googling or maybe try and get hold of one of her books.  She is raw, sometimes in your face yet relatable.  She has quite a following here in Australia and she is all about empowering women and supporting each other.  Here is the moodboard…

The design team was lucky enough to have some especially designed acrylic and wood veneer supplied by one of this months Sponsors, Corbett Creations.  Do contact Jodi if you would like to order anything that tickles your fancy.

Yep you heard right, this month there are 2 homegrown sponsor prizes up for grabs.  We have a prize from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Cortbett Creations.  As usual we have Accent Scrapbooking on board again this year as an international Sponsor.  They have changed their name to Scrap Accent as well as their logo but it is the same company and awesome products.  Make sure you check out all our sponsors websites.

Remember to link up you can do it via the link here on the blog or share it to our Facebook Page or tag us on Instagram.  If you link up via the blog make sure you put where you are from in your description so we can choose the correct winners.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with and I hope you really love the new additions to the team.
