JUNE CHALLENGE | "NANAS"

Pinch and a punch. New challenge this month.  This challenge reminds me of my Baba AKA Grandma.  Miss matched patters and colours that somehow were a style.  If that makes sense?!  Here is the inspiration picture....

This months homegrown challenge Sponsor is one of our faithful favourites - D-lish Scraps.  Please take the time to peruse the shop and pick up a few gorgeous embellishments.  We also have our favourite International Store sponsoring our International winners - Accent Scrap.  Make sure you check out all the gorgeous flair.

Now for some inspiration from our design team:

I was inspired to draw from the image as much as I could. I used a white background and then a mix of busy, colourful patterns including a geometric design. I also added flowers and included pops of yellow inspired by the clogs.
I took inspiration from all the different patterns.
Inspired the patch work bags and the mixture of colours and patterns.Tamara
Inspired by the florals
I was inspired by the yellow clogs. I am on a mission this year to get out of my comfort zone and I certainly did with this one! I never use yellow!! the technique was inspired by a step by step tutorial by Tammy Klingner - the design itself quite different to Tammy's page.
The miss match of patterns got me
Krisy
I've gone for that patterns in this one.
Anne
This is my june layout, I got my inspiration in the color, the flowers and the leaves.
I was inspired by the pops of busy pattern on a more subtle backdrop, and I wanted the yellow to stand out on my layout, the way it does in the image.

I took this months theme of "Patterns and Colours" as a representation of "Mismatched" - some see beauty and others don't - a bit like life really - underneath the picture is a quote that represents how fractured moments shape us as women
Inspired by the florals and that pop of yellow!

Remember when you link up to include your country of Origin to make it a little easier for judging.  AND remember you can link up via the blog using your blog, a facebook link or Instagram link.  You don't have to have a blog to play along.  Of if that is a little too much just message your entry through on our Facebook.  All entries are considered.

This months homegrown sponsor is D-lish Scraps and as always Scrapbook Accent is on board for our international winner.  Make sure you check out their pages.  Without their support we wouldn't be able to reward you for you efforts.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with this month.

JANUARY CHALLENGE | "GOT THE BLUES"

HAPPY NEW YEAR LOVELIES!

I hope that Santa was good to you and you have all your New Years Resolutions listed ready to be broken by the end of the month. :P  I have decided once again to partake in the Ali Edwards One Little Word but without all the commitment of the document in an album stuff.  I am going to do it via my favourite social media - Instagram.  You know all the pictures without all the bulls*&% that goes with it...well less of it any ways.  I would love to know your resolutions and if you are participating in One Little Word so leave a comment!

So, it's a New Year and there are a few changes taking place this year.  Skai had decided to step back due to other commitments and we are adding two new team members.... A homegrown talent of Gwen Wruck and an international, Veronique Gagne.  You will recognise Gwen as a big contributor to the now defunked Scrapbooking Memories Magazine and she was also one of last years masters. Veronique guested for me last year and loved the challenge so much she accepted my offer to join the team.  Both Gwen and Veronique have very different styles and I know you will find some inspiration from these lovely ladies.  Go and check out their links in the side bar or under her take on this months challenge.

On to this months challenge.  I decided to start things off easy with a Colour moodboard.  Remember you can be inspired by anything about the moodboard but it has to include the featured colour....the title is "Got the Blues"  so you guessed it the feature colour is Blue.

I know I have been a little behind in announcing Novembers winner so both the November and December winners will be announced later this week.  Keep an eye out for that.

This months sponsor is The Resin Rainbow so make sure you link up to be in the running for an awesome prize.
As always Accent Scrapbooking will be supplying an International winners prize all throughout the year so everyone is in the running for some awesome prizes.  We have locked in sponsors for the entire year already and most months we have more than one!

I can't wait to see where this month's moodboard takes you and please let us know what your 2018 plans/resolutions/one little words are!

Cheers
Krisy xx

Ps.  This is not a sponsored post from Ali Edwards One Little Word.  I just like the concept! My Instagram is @popleopod if you would like to check it out.

HOME GROWN GUEST DESIGNER #2 AUGUST 2016

Well, it's the middle of the month and you know what that means...It's time to share our Homegrown Guest Designer for August.  This month's Homegowner is a lady that I have been lucky enough to actually meet in real life and she is just as freaking awesome and cheeky as she appears to be through her art.  She is a very busy mum of two that has her own scrapbooking business, Flutterby Designs.  I am pleased to welcome Anita Rodway.

"So you know you're an artist if you go through a glue stick faster than a lipstick!? Well that's me!!  Hello, I'm Anita.  Graphic Designer / Full-time mummy to one boisterous 4 year old boy and a beautiful 1 year old girl (enjoying every bit of it!!)  & married to my best friend, Chris.  We live in Tamworth, the country music capital of Australia.  My love of art started at a young age and I had chosen my career pretty early.  I have always loved mixed media and the design process.  Never shying away from getting my hands messy.  I am lucky enough to say the quote "Do what you love, love what you do" applies to me.  I started scrapbooing about 10 years ago and I haven't stopped.  I have however since forgotten other basics live vacuuming, cooking etc - but we get by LOL.  Paper and paint are like therapy to me.  It calms me & satisfies my arty desires.  I have been on numerous Design and Creative Teams.  I am curretnly designing for Flutterby Designa dn Show Us Yout Stuff (Yay!!)  I've had layouts plublished in magazines such as Scrapbooking Memories, Scrapbooke Creations and Jot Magazine,  I have made many friends and met some awesomely talented people through scrapbooking that inspire me everyday.  I am truly grateful to have met them all.  My blog: http://anitarodway.blogspot.com.au/"

And here is Neet's take on this months Moodboard...These are totally her colours.

Neet's style it all about layers and paint.  She just nails it everytime.

What do you think?  I love that there is so much to look at and every time you look you see something different.

I will be back in a bit with our International Guest Designer for August.  She is from Finland and has a very distinct style.  Any guesses?

August Moodboard Challenge

Hi Everyone, We are officially more than half way through the year and entering the depths of winter.  I was lucky enough to spend some time down in Melbourne for a Retreat at the end of last month and I can tell you that Queensland seems cold until you travel down south.  It was freezing but I honestly didn't go out side much. There is no need to when you have some wine, a scrapbooking shop and some great like minded friends all in the same room.  Enough about me and trying to get over my retreat hangover... Let's get on with this months challenge.  A Moodboard by the lovely Rikki with all the blues of the cold winter chill.

There is a bit mixed media and cut files amongst this series of layouts from the Design Team. It's so good that everyone has interpreted the challenge so differently.
