AUGUST MOODBOARD CHALLENGE | HELLO MR GREY

Hi Scrap the Girls Lovelies.

Hi from the depths of Winter here in Australia.  This month we are possibly heating things up a bit with this moodboard.  Again, interpret it how you like.  the Colour or the Book...It's up to you so long as it's ONLY girls. ;)

This moodboard was inspired by a class that I taught at the Brisbane Scrapbooking Expo back in June called 50 Shades of Grey.  It was all about how you can use one colour to create so many layers and shades. So, say hello to "Mr Grey".

And here are the Design Teams layouts to inspire you....

 Sue

Remember to link up your layouts via the blog or send them through on the Facebook page.   They will all be considered.

This months challenge is sponsored by Colour Blast.  Make sure you head over and check out their products.  My layout was created using the Colour Spray and Shimmer Dusts in Road Base and Midnight.

AUGUST MOODBOARD WINNER

Hi Everyone....I know it's only the 8th of the month, I'm not sure if it is just me but it seems like September is just flying. I just realised that I hadn't posted last months winner. (I like to have this done by the 5th - just so you know).

Well, the "blue" moodboard proved very popular and there were some pretty awesome entries. Even a few Pocket Pages which is nice. Pocket pages are scrapbooking and feel free to be inspired and load your entries in when we have a moodboard challenge. I don't think they quite work with sketches :)

So, let's get on with it...August's Moodboard Challenge winner of the $25 Colour Blast Australia Voucher is .....

Barb Turner

I love the use of the bold patterned paper and the mixed media.  Not to mention the photo strip.  I see so many people ask how to scrap these.  Well this is it!

Barb please message me via the Facebook page or email popleopod@gmail.com to claim your prize.

Thank you to Colour Blast Australia for supporting Scrap the Girls last month.  It is greatly appreciated.  If you haven't tried Colour Blast yet head over to the online store and pick some up.

Don't forget to link up for this months Sketch challenge.  I can't wait to see how everyone interprets it.

Happy making stuff.

AUGUST INTERNATIONAL GUEST DESIGNER #2

This month's Guest Designer I have followed her on Instagram for some time and her work is pretty AMAZING.  She has a very distinct style that includes lots of layers and that has lead her to being a team member of some pretty fantastic Design Teams including Hip Kit Club.  I would like to introduce to you Terhi Koskinen.

I ask all my Guest Designers to send me a little bit of a bio and this is what Terhi says about herself:
"I'm a scrapbooker from Finland. Mother. Wife. Dog owner. Friend. Sister. Daughter. Horseback rider. I'm a papercrafter with lots of inspiration and addiction to make beautiful things.
Scrapbooking is more than a hobby for me, it's a lifestyle - it starts with grabbing a photo and ends when I get my creation where I wanted. And then it starts again. Surrounding myself with pretty things and my family is how I want to live my life.
My creations are filled layers, straight lines, and techniques I want to try out. My biggest passion is to make scrapbook layouts, but sometimes I'm inspired to alter some daily used objects.
Find my blog at http://tellimaria.blogspot.fi, there's links to my, Facebook and other social media channels!"
And here is Terhi's take on Rikki's Moodboard.

HOME GROWN GUEST DESIGNER #2 AUGUST 2016

Well, it's the middle of the month and you know what that means...It's time to share our Homegrown Guest Designer for August.  This month's Homegowner is a lady that I have been lucky enough to actually meet in real life and she is just as freaking awesome and cheeky as she appears to be through her art.  She is a very busy mum of two that has her own scrapbooking business, Flutterby Designs.  I am pleased to welcome Anita Rodway.

"So you know you're an artist if you go through a glue stick faster than a lipstick!? Well that's me!!  Hello, I'm Anita.  Graphic Designer / Full-time mummy to one boisterous 4 year old boy and a beautiful 1 year old girl (enjoying every bit of it!!)  & married to my best friend, Chris.  We live in Tamworth, the country music capital of Australia.  My love of art started at a young age and I had chosen my career pretty early.  I have always loved mixed media and the design process.  Never shying away from getting my hands messy.  I am lucky enough to say the quote "Do what you love, love what you do" applies to me.  I started scrapbooing about 10 years ago and I haven't stopped.  I have however since forgotten other basics live vacuuming, cooking etc - but we get by LOL.  Paper and paint are like therapy to me.  It calms me & satisfies my arty desires.  I have been on numerous Design and Creative Teams.  I am curretnly designing for Flutterby Designa dn Show Us Yout Stuff (Yay!!)  I've had layouts plublished in magazines such as Scrapbooking Memories, Scrapbooke Creations and Jot Magazine,  I have made many friends and met some awesomely talented people through scrapbooking that inspire me everyday.  I am truly grateful to have met them all.  My blog: http://anitarodway.blogspot.com.au/"

And here is Neet's take on this months Moodboard...These are totally her colours.

Neet's style it all about layers and paint.  She just nails it everytime.

What do you think?  I love that there is so much to look at and every time you look you see something different.

I will be back in a bit with our International Guest Designer for August.  She is from Finland and has a very distinct style.  Any guesses?

August Moodboard Challenge

Hi Everyone, We are officially more than half way through the year and entering the depths of winter.  I was lucky enough to spend some time down in Melbourne for a Retreat at the end of last month and I can tell you that Queensland seems cold until you travel down south.  It was freezing but I honestly didn't go out side much. There is no need to when you have some wine, a scrapbooking shop and some great like minded friends all in the same room.  Enough about me and trying to get over my retreat hangover... Let's get on with this months challenge.  A Moodboard by the lovely Rikki with all the blues of the cold winter chill.

There is a bit mixed media and cut files amongst this series of layouts from the Design Team. It's so good that everyone has interpreted the challenge so differently.
