DESIGN TEAM CALL!!

As you know there are a few changes happening around here and that includes a Design Team call.  We have some openings within our Scrap the Girls Design team that need to be filled.  So with that I am opening up out Design Team Call for 2016.

I'm looking for several designers to keep doing what we do best here on the blog - create beautiful, innovative and inspiring layouts for our Scrap The Girls challenge blog. This is your opportunity to shine and inspire our followers, and share your creative genius with the world!

Why be on the team?
  • Inspire our blog followers and challenge players each month with your beautiful work
  • Occasional free products to play with from our sponsors
  • Be part of an awesome design team and community via a private FB group
  • Online exposure for you through direct links on the website, and social media sites.

What I'm looking for for the June - January 2017 team:
  • Committed individuals with scrap savvy, and love to scrap the girls in their lives!
  • Individuals that must take crisp, clean photo's of their layouts, including being able to remove colour casts and resize photo's so they are blog ready.
  • Individuals that have experience blogging, emailing and using Facebook to 'share' broadcasts relating to the monthly challenges and sponsor/s for that month.
  • Individuals that can meet monthly deadlines.
  • Individuals that can keep a challenge secret - we get 4-6 months of challenges ahead of time.
As a STG Design Team member you will need to:
  • Create 1 (one) layout per month, starting June through to January 2017, occasionally incorporating product from the sponsor of that month.
  • Create 1 (one) step-by step layout during your time on the team, using a technique you want to share with our followers.
  • Share the monthly reveal via your Facebook page and personal blog (if you use/have these).
How to Apply:
  • Send your application to popleopod@gmail.com before 11:59pm EST, 25 April 2016!
  • Send 3 of your fave layouts that best represent your style, and show off different techniques you like to use - these can be recent layouts or ones from your archives - resized to 600px please. NOTE: These don't have to be Scrap the Girl Layouts, just layouts that best represent you.
  • Tell me about YOU! Your family, location, why you scrap, who inspires you, what inspires you, etc.
  • Tell me about your scrapbooking style.  What do you consider your style to be?  What's your signature?
  • Send me a link to your blog if you have one, or online gallery, Facebook and Instagram
  • Make sure you let me know if you are already on any Design Teams, and if you have upcoming commitments when you won't be available to participate in monthly challenges.
  • This call is open to everyone, regardless of geographic location.
You have to be in it to win it - everyone has a chance to be chosen for the team.

All Applicants will receive a confirmation email when your application is received.  Only Successful Applicants will be contacted again by email on or before 30 April 2016. The first Design Team Layout will be due by 25 May 2016 for reveal on 1 June 2016.

Good luck everyone,

Changes to Scrap the Girls

Hi Lovely Ladies (I think I can safely say that),

This is my first post at the new boss lady here at Scrap the Girls.  Scrap the Girls holds a special place in my heart as it was the first ever Online Challenge that I won back in June last year. When AJ announced she was needing to step back, I was a little sad at the possibility of the challenge closing.  I didn't put my hand up straight away.  I am a mum of three small children and a current Scrapbooking Memories Master with six design team commitments so the idea to take on a blog really was/is CRAZY.  But I couldn't stop thinking about it and I think when you can't stop thinking about something your heart probably desires it really bad. But then a silly quote thing came across my Facebook feed that was my push to say Yep, I'm in. It was a quote of Richard Branson's face that read, "If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you are not sure you can do it, say yes.  Then learn how to do it later."

So, here I am.  One CRAZY owner of a blog!  I am not overly graphically computer saavy so you will have to bear with me on that - I'm learning.  As for the direction of Scrap the Girls. There are a few small changes with the rules in particularly how many challenges you can combine with your entry this is changing from three to just Scrap the Girls and One other.  The other change is to international entries. International entries will not be eligible for prizes however will be invited to be a Guest Designer for the following month with a special Blog post featuring just their layout. They will also be supplied with an Guest Design Blog Badge for use on their blog.  Please make sure you read the rules before you link up.

We now have an Instagram and through out the month we will be making Honourable mentions.  If you get one of these, you will need to Direct Message me for a Honourable Mention Blog Badge for you to use on your blog. Should you not want your layout featured for privacy reasons please make mention of that in your blog post.

One last thing. We have a few openings on our Design Team and will be opening a Design Team call in the next few days for your to put your applications forward for consideration for the Design Team period June to January.  Keep an eye out for all the details on a separate blog post for this.

In the meantime...upload all your entries into this months colour challenge designed by our very own Rikki to win a prize from 2crafty Chipboard.

April Challenge

Good morning everyone,

Happy April. We have a gorgeous new challenge for you today - Design Girl Rikki has created a beautiful mood board with all the girly colours we love to use on our layouts. The DT have also had fun with this challenge and I'm sure you'll be inspired by their layouts this month too (as usual. Aren't they just amazing?! :) ).

This will be my last post as the STG Administrator - I'm handing the reins over to a very talented young lady who is no stranger to this challenge blog - you know and love her - DT Krisy Podolak!  A big 'welcome' to Krisy, and thank you from me for offering to take over - with work and study I sadly cannot run the blog the way I would like. I know Krisy will rock this.

On with the challenge!

Here is our mood board inspiration:
